Metinvest’s crude steel production for 2023 dropped by 31% year-on-year, resulting in the decision to halt steel manufacturing at its Mariupol, Avdiivka, and Zaporizhzhia facilities.
Damage from the conflict, particularly at the Azovstal and Ilyich plants in Mariupol, contributed to the shutdown, while production stabilization at Kamet Steel partially offset the decline.
