On May 22, the Ministry of Commerce released the data showing that from January to April 2023, China’s outward investment continued to grow, with outward non-financial direct investment reaching RMB289.29 billion, a year-on-year increase of 26.6% (equivalent to USD42.19 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%). The non-financial direct investment of Chinese enterprises in the countries along the “Belt and Road” recorded USD7.53 billion, up bu 9% YOY, accounting for 17.8% of the total amount in the same period.
