Gansu Conducts Massive Safety Inspection Over Mine Operations

The Emergency Department of Gansu and the Gansu Bureau of the State Mine Bureau jointly decide to carry out special projects of massive and thorough safety inspection over all the mines in the province to avoid major and extra serious mine accidents. The special projects are designed to start from May and complete before late August, while the special projects for coal mines, open pits and tailing ponds will come to an end no later than late June.

The special projects involve all of 85 coal mine enterprises, 168 metal and non-metal underground mines, 159 tailing ponds as well as 36 metal and non-metal open-pit mines with over-100-meter slopes. Other mines beyond the mentioned categories in the province are subject to overall inspection regulations made by the municipal and county emergency administrations on the basis of the principle of territory supervision.
