Weifang Built The First 1MW/4MWh Hydrochloric Acid-based All-Vanadium Liquid Flow Energy Storage Power Station In China

On July 1, the first phase of the first hydrochloric acid-based all-vanadium liquid flow energy storage power station in China was successfully completed in Weifang Binhai Economic Development Zone. The project is undertaken by Liquid Flow Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. The first phase of the project is 1MW/4MWh. After the completion of the project, the energy storage capacity of 10MW/40MWh will be realized. Through peak shaving and valley filling, wind and solar surplus power storage, etc., the project will be provided annually 14 million kWh of electricity demand during peak electricity consumption periods.
The total investment of the energy storage power station is 85 million yuan, and the capacity construction cost is close to that of the lithium battery type energy storage station. Due to the use of aqueous electrolyte, it has high chemical stability and can operate stably for more than 10 years, and the electrolyte and stack materials inside the system can be 100% recycled. At the same time, the entire electrochemical system completely avoids the risk of combustion and explosion, and is the only intrinsically safe large-scale electrochemical energy storage solution.
The energy storage power station is the world’s most powerful hydrochloric acid-based all-vanadium redox flow battery energy storage power station. Compared with the traditional sulfuric acid-based flow battery, it not only increases the energy density of the battery by 20%, but also operates in a more severe temperature environment. The active temperature control device will only be turned on when the temperature is above 65 degrees, which greatly reduces its own energy consumption and improves energy efficiency.
Flow Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. is a leading enterprise in the energy storage industry with leading comprehensive strength in China. After more than 10 years of research and development, it has completely solved the problem of plate corrosion and chlorine evolution of hydrochloric acid flow batteries. The company has a complete set of technologies from electrolyte production, stack raw material processing, battery automation production line, BMS system, to energy storage power station design and grid-connected operation and maintenance.
