In order to promote the rapid development of the vanadium industry chain, make full use of regional high-quality resources, and create a new profit growth point for the vanadium industry chain, Jinduicheng Molybdenum Industry Group Co., Ltd. established an all-vanadium flow battery research and development center (hereinafter referred to as “all-vanadium flow battery research and development center”) to accelerate the construction of the all-vanadium flow battery project in accordance with the relevant requirements of Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Holding Group’s “High-Quality Project Construction Year”, combined with the “14th Five-Year” development plan of Gold Molybdenum Group On April 13.

The all-vanadium redox flow battery R&D center is registered in the High-tech Zone, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. The business scope is the production and sales of vanadium electrolytes and stacks, and the production and sales of integrated products for vanadium energy storage power stations. An electrolyte production line will be built with an annual output of vanadium pentoxide electrolyte of 10,000 m³, and a pilot-scale production line with an annual output of 200 MW of stacks. After completion, an integrated product of vanadium energy storage power station will be built according to market needs.

The all-vanadium redox flow battery R&D center will utilize the vanadium resources and production capacity of Jinduicheng, combine vanadium battery technology to extend the product industry chain, cultivate new profit growth points, and seize the development high point of all-vanadium redox flow battery and new energy storage industry at the same time.

According to reports, the all-vanadium redox flow battery has unique advantages such as high energy conversion efficiency, large storage capacity, free site selection, deep discharge, long battery life, safety and environmental protection, and is considered to be one of the most commercialized energy storage batteries and is especially suitable for application scenarios with long-term energy storage requirements.

In recent years, Jinduicheng Molybdenum Group has continued to increase the development of vanadium resources, giving full play to its own advantages in capital, technology, management and talent, and acquired the Lvdonggou Vanadium Mine in Yang County, Shangluo. Besides, it established a new company named Shaanxi Jincheng Jiechu Vanadium Industry on October 22, 2019 with the reserve of 125,000 tons of vanadium metal reserves. At present, the upgrading of Lvdonggou vanadium mine resources and reserves, the peripheral prospecting project, and the optimization of the beneficiation process of the 2,000-ton mining and beneficiation project are progressing in an orderly manner. At the same time, it controled Shaanxi Wuzhou Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Wuzhou Mining), adding 363,700 tons of vanadium metal reserves and vanadium mining, dressing, smelting and processing industry chain and its production capacity. So far, the strategic layout of the vanadium industry has taken shape.
It is understood that Jinduicheng Molybdenum Group will take this vanadium as a platform to gradually integrate the surrounding advantageous resources, carry out the overall development planning of regional vanadium ore resources, and adhere to the synchronous development of the three strategic sectors of “mining integration development + vanadium series product production + vanadium high-end application market development”. , actively implement the national “two-carbon” goal and take advantage of the characteristics of stone coal type vanadium ore resources with less impurities. In addition, the vanadium electrolyte researched and developed is the first to be applied to the all-vanadium redox flow battery energy storage demonstration project. It is currently working with Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics to accelerate the industrialization of this achievement, and strive to build a whole industrial chain of “vanadium pentoxide → high-purity vanadium → vanadium chemical industry → vanadium battery → energy storage power station”, and build a domestic first-class national-level high-end vanadium material industry base.
