Taiwan’s Dragon Steel Eyes High-end Steel Market With Billet Caster Upgrade

Taiwanese steelmaker Dragon Steel has opted to focus greater attention on the domestic high-grade steel market with a recent revamp of its billet caster, according to equipment supplier SMS Group.

Dragon Steel, a subsidiary of China Steel Corp based in Taichung, western Taiwan, has operated a billet caster since 2000 and has capacity to make 600,000 tonnes per year of 145-mm steel billets.
