The company has staked 31 additional claims that will increase its footprint to about 18.7sqkm while extending the interpreted mineralised uranium and vanadium strike by over 1km at both the None Such and Bonanza prospects in Utah.
Recently channel sampling by TNT Mines (ASX:TIN) returned results of up to 0.34 per cent uranium and 0.26 per cent uranium respectively in walls of the historical workings.
Several samples are still awaiting assay results as they were too radioactive for the primary laboratory.
A first-phase drilling program to better define the project’s prospectivity is scheduled to start in the December quarter once results from the initial fieldwork program have been received and interpreted.
Strong potential for high-grade uranium and vanadium
Channel sampling at the historical None Such mine has returned results of up to 0.6m at 0.34 per cent uranium and 1.55 per cent vanadium while Bonanza returned up to 1.25m at 0.26 per cent uranium.
Sampling work was guided by results from a handheld scintillometer, which the company previously noted had returned extremely high readings up to 42,000 counts per second (c/s).
Scintillometers are used by geologists to assess a gamma count rate with a c/s of more than 5,000 considered highly anomalous in the region.
The results to date have provided encouragement for the presence of high-grade uranium and vanadium within East Canyon, a belief that has been supported by the observation of visible mineralisation throughout the workings.
Work has also found that the Bonanza workings are more extensive than first thought.
