BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 May 20 – With an annual production capacity of 2,000t for vanadium nitride, Zaoyang Pingfan Vanadium Nitride Alloy Co., Ltd. would resume production from early June after the COVID-19. Before that, they have been out of production for almost four months, a source told Asian Metal.
“We didn’t produce vanadium nitride after the Spring Festival due to the COVID-19. As our company is a model enterprise in Hubei province, we would resume production in early June according to the notice of local government,” said the source. They could produce about 100tpm in normal. They would prepare to buy raw materials in near term. The current prices of vanadium pentoxide oxide flake 98%min he received stand at around RMB94,500/t (USD6.2/lb V2O5) EXW D/P, unchanged from last month.
Located in Xiangfan, they are one of nine producers for vanadium nitride in Hubei. They are jointly established by Hubei High Technology Industry Investment Co., Ltd and Hubei Pingfan Mining Co., Ltd. Its current annual capacity is 2,000t and the long-term planning one is 8,000t.
This Thursday, mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium nitride stand at RMB145,000-148,000/t (USD26.6-27.1/kg V) EXW D/A 180 days, unchanged from last week. Because of the high production cost, most suppliers have a strong desire to raise their quotation.
