Malaysia Extends “Action Restrictions” Once Again

The Prime Minster of Malaysia delivered a televised speech on the afternoon of April 10th, announcing that the existing “action restrictions” will be extended to another two weeks to April 28th. He also noted that the government agrees to reopen some economic fields in phases on the premise of strict control in order to reduce the influence brought by restrictive measures on economy.

Malaysia has launched the countrywide “action restrictions” since March 18th. Specific measures include prohibiting people from going out when it is unnecessary, prohibiting cross-state travel without permission, prohibiting large-scale gathering activities, closing schools and some shops, restricting entry and exit. The “action restrictions” originally lasted for two weeks and then was extended to April 14th.
