The export of steel ingot from Iran rose 7.6 percent in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-December 21, 2023), as compared to the same period of time in the past year, the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) announced.
The ISPA put the country’s steel ingot export at 5.621 million tons at the first nine months of this year, and at 5.224 million tons in the first nine months of the previous year.
As the association has announced, the production of steel ingot in Iran rose three percent in the first nine months of the current year, as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
The ISPA put the country’s steel ingot output at 24.492 million tons at the first nine months of this year, and at 23.786 million tons in the first nine months of the previous year.
According to the latest report released by the World Steel Association (WSA), Iran’s steel production reached at 3.0 million tons in November, 2023, registering a 7.6 percent increase compared to the previous month.
The Islamic Republic produced 28.1 million tons of crude steel in the first 11 months of 2023, also registering a 0.6 percent increase as compared to the same period in the past year, the WSA report said.
Based on the WSA data, Iran maintained its place as the world’s 10th largest steel producer in the mentioned period.
The WSA data put the world’s 11-month crude steel production at 1.715 billion tons, indicating a 0.5 percent increase compared to the first 11 months of 2022.
