Vanadium Consumption Analysis In March 2023

www.ferroalloynet.com: According to incomplete statistics on FerroAlloyNet, the output of vanadium pentoxide in the vanadium-based market in March was about 12,079 tons, including 10,700 tons of V2O5 flake and 1,379 tons of V2O5 powder; 3,620 tons of ferrovanadium50 and 4,925 tons of vanadium-nitrogen alloys.

Product Conversion Rate Output(Ton) Converted Consumption(Ton)
FeV50→V2O5 flake 1:0.95 3620 3439
VN→V2O5 flake 1:1.416 4925 6973.8

According to the calculations in the figure, the total output of ferrovanadium50 is 3,620 tons, which is converted into a total consumption of 3,439 tons of V2O5 flake, and the conversion of 4,925 tons of vanadium-nitrogen alloy into vanadium pentoxide is 6,973.8 tons. The consumption of vanadium oxide by ferrovanadium and vanadium-nitrogen alloy is about 10,412.8 tons. In March, the export volume of vanadium pentoxide in the international market is expected to be about 995 tons, and the imported V2O5 flake, ferrovanadium50 and ferrovanadium80 to port is about 340 tons. To sum up, the total market supply of vanadium pentoxide is about 12,419 tons, and the total consumption is about 11,407.8 tons, of which the supply does not include the domestic production and import of ammonium metavanadate of about 2,200 tons. From a theoretical point of view, the supply of vanadium products exceeded demand in March, and the vanadium market was under pressure.
