Surefire will use 5,188 metres of drill core from 62 RC-drilled holes and 292 metres from three diamond-drilled holes to inform mining studies, geotechnical and metallurgical data for a pre-feasibility study on the Victory Bore Vanadium Project.
Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has begun to incorporate data from a round of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling programs on the 100%-owned Victory Bore Vanadium Project in Western Australia into a pre-feasibility study (PFS).
The PFS will include data from 62 RC-drilled holes over 5,188 metres and three diamond-drilled holes for 292 metres of drill core.
The project currently holds one of the largest vanadium resources in Western Australia, with an inferred mineral resource of 237 million tonnes at 0.43% vanadium pentoxide, 24.9% iron and 5.9% titanium oxide.
The data from said drilling programs will also aid in upgrading the project’s resource to a higher indicated confidence category, and inform the mining studies necessary for the PFS.
Meeting growing demand for vanadium
“We are excited to advance our Victory Bore / Unaly Hill Vanadium Project at this time of rising demand for vanadium in large-scale battery storage, steel strengthening and advanced technology applications, while supply is under threat from traditional sources pushing prices higher,” Surefire Resources managing director Vladimir Nikolaenko said.
“We have a busy work schedule ahead as the drill results come to hand and as the PFS progresses.”
Apart from resource upgrade and mining study purposes, Surefire will also use the drill core from these programs to produce geotechnical and metallurgical data to inform the PFS.
