Largo Clean Energy Corp, part of Canadian vanadium mining company Largo Resources Ltd (TSE:LGO), has secured a customer in Spain to which it will supply its proprietary vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) system.
Largo Resources said its subsidiary entered into a sales contract with renewables company Enel Green Power Espana (EGPE), under which it is due to deliver a 5-hour 6.1-MWh VCHARGE± storage product.
The delivery is subject to Largo Clean Energy receiving notice to proceed from EGPE within the next 180 days, the parent company said.
EGPE needs the battery for a project in Spain that has a commissioning date seen some time in the fourth quarter of 2022. No other details were given.
“We are excited to have been selected by Enel Green Power Espana as the preferred energy storage solution partner on this project, commented Paulo Misk, president and CEO of Largo Resources.
“Integrating Largo’s leading high purity vanadium production with the disruptive capabilities of our VCHARGE± system, including superior performance, long life, optimal cost structure and proven durability, should position Largo as an emerging leader in the VRFB industry,” Misk added.
