Eskom Still Attending To Faults In Parts Of Zululand That Were Affected By Storm Activity

WHILE Eskom says it has made great headway in repairing infrastructure damaged during thunderstorm activity and related severe weather on Tuesday, some parts of the region – and the province – remain affected.
Network faults were reported across northern KZN and inland, towards the Drakensberg.
Some of the affected areas were inaccessible to Eskom’s maintenance and repair teams owing to damaged roads and swollen rivers.
The power utility’s teams are still on the ground and working on restoring power in Mtubatuba, Hluhluwe, Richards Bay, Pongola, Nongoma and Jozini.
Eskom urges the public to treat all installations as live, for safety reasons, and to stay away from low-hanging conductors and fallen structures, and to report these to the contact centre on 08600 37566.
