Toronto-based vanadium pentoxide producer Largo Resources published its performance results for the second quarter of 2020 on Thursday July 16.
Largo’s second-quarter output of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) from its Maracás Menchen mine in Brazil was 2,562 tonnes, a decrease of 9.5% compared with 2,831 tonnes during the first quarter of 2020. V2O5 production increased year on year, however, by 2% from 2,515 tonnes in April-June 2019. The company also reported a decrease in total ore mined due to operational adjustments intended to limit the exposure of its mining workforce during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as operational restrictions due to the country’s rainy season.
