Inquiries increased significantly during the past week and the market supply keeps tight now. Insiders believe that mainstream prices of vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min would stay firm in the coming week.
A producer in North China quotes their vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min at RMB98,500/t (USD6.4/lb V2O5) EXW D/A 180 days at the moment and won’t accept any orders for firm bids, up by RMB500/t (USD0.03/lb V2O5) from last week. “We are in no hurry to accept new orders now as we have no stocks. If buyers could accept our current quotation and could wait for 15 days, we would arrange the output for them,” said the source. They sold 32t to their regular client at RMB96,500/t (USD6.3/lb V2O5) this Monday, who signed the contract with them about 15 days ago. Inquiries kept active during the past week. Considering the supply situation stays tight, he believes that mainstream prices of vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min would stay firm in the coming week.
With a production capacity of 2,000tpy, they produced about 1,300t in 2019 and expect the same volume in 2020. They expect to produce about 130t in May, up by 10t from April, holding no stocks now, unchanged from last month.

He heard other producers have increased the quotation to RMB97,000/t (USD6.2/lb V2O5) now. As they require customers to pay 100% in advance, so their dealing prices stay lower than other suppliers. With an annual production capacity of 5,400/t, they produced about 2,000t in 2019 and expect 2,400t this year. They expect to produce about 200t in May, unchanged from April. They only produce according to orders, no stocks now.
