Yellow Alert For Heavy Air Pollution Issued In Lvliang

Lvliang government recently issued a yellow (level-three) alert for heavy air pollution, along with a level-three emergency response from November 20th to 23rd. Highlights include:

Steel companies with long production process shut down sintering machine and pelletizing equipment completely, and if the alert isn’t lifted after 120 hours, at least 50% production is cut (by the number of production line); production from blast furnace is cut by at least 50% (by the number of furnace); lime kiln is fully shut down; coking chamber (≥6m) extends coking time to more than 28 hours, coking chamber (<6m) extends coking time to more than 36 hours. China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are forbidden to transport materials.

Steel companies with short production process suspend sintering, pelletizing and steel rolling process. Material transportation is forbidden.

Ferroalloy companies shut down at least 50% production from submerged arc furnace, finery, intermediate frequency furnace, drying kiln and sintering machine (by capacity scale and the number of equipment); China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are not allowed to transport materials.

Coking companies extend coking time to 48 hours; Coking companies with heat recovery process extend coking time to 24 hours; China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are forbidden to transport materials.

Alumina producers shut down 50% production from clinker sintering and calcination processes (by the number of production line).

Primary aluminum producers shut down 30% production (by the number of electrolytic cell).

Carbon companies shut down at least 50% from the calcination process (by the number of flame system).

Refractory companies fueled by coal suspend production; those using coal gas and liquefied gas instead of natural gas suspend at least 50% production (by the number of production line); China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are not allowed to transport materials.

Casting companies shut down gas-related processes; China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are forbidden to transport materials.

China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are forbidden to transport materials from underground coal mining and washing process as well as the mining process of other minerals.

No crashing, screening and explosion during the open-pit mining process of coal, ferrous metal and nonferrous metal. China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck (including gas vehicles) and the lower-standard are not allowed to transport materials.
