GTI Locks In Uranium-Vanadium Targets For Maiden Drilling Campaign

GTI Resources (ASX:GTR) will launch a maiden drilling campaign at its super high-grade US uranium and vanadium projects by the end of 2019.

In early September, GTI finalised the acquisition of Voyager Energy, which held eight uranium and vanadium exploration projects in Utah.

These projects are located in the Henry Mountains mining district — a region which has already produced 92 million pounds of uranium and 482 million pounds of vanadium.

And GTI already knows that these historic projects host high-grade uranium and vanadium mineralisation.

Recent sampling returned super high grades of up to 81,558ppm (8.15 per cent) uranium and 8.39 per cent vanadium.

Now, GTI has just finished generating a number of high-quality targets and plans to follow up with a maiden drilling campaign by the end of the year.

The 10-hole drilling program will test extensions to known zones of uranium and vanadium mineralisation, encountered within historical workings and outcrops.

GTI says the targets “offer encouraging potential”.

And because drill holes will be cored and geophysically logged, GTI will have access to uranium grades immediately, which could help guide subsequent drilling locations.
