Vanadium Consumption Analysis in June 2019

www.ferroalloynet.com: According to incomplete statistics from ferroalloynet, the output of vanadium pentoxide in vanadium market in June 2019 was about 8,448 tons, including 7,670 tons of vanadium pentoxide flake and 778 tons of vanadium pentoxide powder. Ferrovanadium output was 4,175 tons, while vanadium-nitrogen output was 4,070 tons.

4,175 tons of ferrovanadium (about 1,118 tons of ferrovanadium 80#) should consume 4,846 tons of V2O5 flake, and 4,070 tons of vanadium-nitrogen should consume 5,763 tons of V2O5, total need 10,609 tons of V2O5. In June, V2O5 export volume and the quantity of long-term orders totaled about 300 tons. Thus the total consumption of vanadium pentoxide should be 10,909 tons. The market was short of about 2,461 tons of V2O5. This month, the downstream vanadium alloy consumed a large amount of vanadium pentoxide, so the material shortage occurred in the first ten days of this month. But a large number of alloys produced by consumption of raw materials have also become the factors leading to the month-end price drop. At the end of the month, the spot amount of alloys in the market was too large to be consumed, thus the price fell.
