A New York-based metal manufacturer is investing $10 million to build a 105,00-square-foot building in Burnsville.
Traxys Cometals Processing Inc.’s facility at northeast Mississippi’s Yellow Creek Port is expected to be completed this month and will create 25 jobs.
Traxys Cometals Processing is a part of Traxys North America, a metals marketing, distribution and trading company. It will produce alloying agents for the molten metal treatment of aluminum and steel at its Burnsville plant.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for the purchase of equipment and building construction. The Yellow Creek Port is financing construction of the facility. Tishomingo County Development Foundation is providing ad valorem and Free Port Warehouse tax exemptions.
Yellow Creek Port is in close proximity to rail and barge traffic, which influenced the company’s decision to locate there, Gov. Phil Bryant noted in a news release.
