KING River Copper is making good ground on its vanadium, titanium, iron and fluorite projects at Speewah in Western Australia’s East Kimberley.
There are 4.7 billion tonnes of vanadium, titanium and iron at Speewah, with the deposits grading at 0.3% vanadium pentoxide, 2% titanium and 14.7% iron.
At Speewah’s vanadium project mining consultant CSA Global’s recently completed concept mining pit study has been joined by Primero Group’s internal desktop report, which contains a detailed beneficiation plant design, with operating and capital cost estimates that will be used in the forthcoming vanadium scoping study.
KRC has also been doing some metallurgical testwork and research into the production of high purity vanadium pentoxide powder and standard grade vanadium pentoxide flake, as well as some titanium dioxide products (pigment and high titanium), iron oxide hematite and vanadium electrolyte.
