Australia-based lithium developer Liontown Resources has announced a maiden lithium-tantalum resource at its Kathleen Valley project in Western Australia (WA).
It has declared an initial resource of 21.2mn t grading 1.41pc lithium oxide and 170 parts per million tantalum pentoxide with 75pc of it in the measured and indicated categories. The resource is open along strike and at depth, providing potential for an increased resource.
Metallurgical tests are continuing and paves the way for a scoping study and preliminary discussions with potential offtake and strategic partners, the company said.
