Siemens Gamesa trials redox flow battery

SPAIN: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is trialling a redox flow battery at its test site in the north-east of the country.

The system is connected to the hybrid controller of the combined wind, solar PV and diesel generation system installed at its La Plana site near Zaragoza.It also supplements the lithium-ion batteries that have been operational for about two years, the manufacturer stated.
