The European Commission (EC) has set definitive anti-dumping duties to last for five years on imports of certain corrosion-resistant steels from China – notably, hot-dipped galvanized coil (HDG) – at rates of 17.2-27.9%.
The decision was announced in the Official Journal of the EU on Thursday February 8, and will come into force on February 9.
The duty was determined at 17.2% for companies in the Shougang Group, including Beijing Shougang Cold Rolling and Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel.
A rate of 27.9% will apply to Zhangjiagang Shagang Dongshin Galvanized Steel Sheet and Zhangjiagang Yangtze River Cold Rolled Sheet.
Tariffs were set at 27.8% for Hesteel companies Hesteel Co Ltd Handan Branch; Handan Iron & Steel Group Han-Bao; Hesteel Co Ltd Tangshan Branch; and Tangshan Iron & Steel Group High Strength Automotive Strip.
The EC calculated anti-dumping duties of 26.1-27.9% for other Chinese companies.
