Vanadium output in China will fall about 35% in August because producers in the major production hub of Sichuan province have been ordered to cut production over the summer.
Still, prices of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) are steady for now after more than doubling in recent weeks. Around 2,500 tonnes of V2O5 output will be removed from the spot market in August, which is around 35% of China’s total monthly production and almost 700 tonnes more than had been cut in July.
